The School of Business Management (SBM) and Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) received courtesy visit from Mr. Todd Hornal, the Director of Strategic Solutions (APAC) of Times Higher Education which is based in Australia.

A discussion was held between IPQ representatives, SBM representatives and Mr. Hornal. IPQ was represented by its Director, Associate Professor Dr. Faudziah Zainal Abidin, Mr. Muhamed Nor Azman Nordin and Ms. Nursyidah Abd Wahab while SBM was represented by Dr. Narentheren Kaliappen, Strategy Officer, Dr. Francis Chuah, QS Ranking Officer and Dr. Noor Fareen Abdul Rahim, Marketing Manager, on behalf of the Dean of SBM, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah.

The one-and-a-half-hour discussions resolve around the criterions used for university rankings in the Times Higher Education World Rankings, with Mr. Hornal providing useful insights and tips on the methodology used for the ranking system. The representatives were also introduced to Times Higher Education World Rankings data system, a system that allows respective university to benchmark its performance against the world’s top university.
