SBM ONLINE: National Human Resource Management Conference (NHRMC 2018) with its apt theme, Managing Human Capital in Facing the Fourth Industrial Revolution becomes a platform to learn about human resources in developing civilization.
The day-long conference with over 50 participants was officially opened by Assistant Vice-Chancellor of COB cum Dean of School of Business Management (SBM), Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah at EDC Hotels & Resorts, this morning.
In his speech he said that the conference on human resources will give participants an overview of the various issues and challenges faced by human resource management which comprises the existing values and principles namely transparency, adaptability, simplicity and unity which are all value-added factors in maintaining the desired organization.
According to him, the said values were important in determining the direction and strategy to continue moving towards sustainable business practices.
"I hope this conference will provide participants with possibilities and opportunities to learn about human resources and take advantage of IR4.0 to develop civilization," he said.
Among the goals of NHRMC 2018 were to provide a platform for human resource practitioners, academics and the community to discuss the strategies, current direction, the future of human resource management, identify the challenges and opportunities of human resource management in Malaysia’s sophisticated socioeconomic environments which had become modern and challenging as well as instil awareness among managers and human resource practitioners on the importance of being proactive and persistent in human resource development to organizations and countries.
At the conference, Prof. Dr. Mohmad Yazam Sharif from Asia e University delivered his keynote address which was later followed by parallel sessions 1, 2 and 3.
