UUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur, 10 July - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) through its School of Business Management (SBM) sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TEKUN Nasional to carry out programmes that will enhance the work performance of employees of TEKUN Nasional.
The MoU was signed by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Ayoib Che Ahmad who represented the Vice-Chancellor and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TEKUN Nasional, Datuk Baharom Embi, witnessed by member of the TEKUN Nasional Board of Trustee, Mdm. Siti Norazlina Seni.
Prof. Dr. Ayoib said the signing of the MoU allowed UUM to collaborate with TEKUN Nasional to carry out development programmes which will enhance the work performance of TEKUN employees in the hopes of giving positive impact to the entire organization.
"With the implementation of this collaboration, the employees of TEKUN will have the opportunity to further improve their academic level by pursuing the Executive Programmes offered at three different levels namely Diploma, Bachelor and Master.
"In addition, there are also entrepreneurship programmes specifically organised for the borrowers of TEKUN and also programmes which study the effectiveness of the implementation of financing products by TEKUN," he said.
Meanwhile, according to member of the TEKUN Nasional Board of Trustee, Mdm. Siti Norazlina Seni, TEKUN and UUM's strategic alliance was not only to develop the skills and knowledge of TEKUN employees in business management and entrepreneurship but also to gain insights and suggestions on improving the financing products implemented by TEKUN, through a joint study.
"Through this collaboration, TEKUN Nasional hopes to gain guidance from the academic experts of UUM through comprehensive entrepreneurship training modules and computer application systems needed by TEKUN Nasional," she explained.
The collaborative programme between UUM and TEKUN Nasional comprised various programmes that included academic enhancement amongst TEKUN Nasional employees who initially involved only 42 employees of TEKUN Nasional.
