SBM Online: On the 11th and 12th of December 2017, School of Business Management (SBM) organized its 1st Research, Innovation and Commercialization Exhibition (RICE 2017). The exhibition which had 107 group participants provided opportunity to all SBM students to showcase and share their knowledge, creativity and innovation through presentation of different ideas, products and services.
During the opening speech, the Dean of SBM, Prof Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah emphasized that the exhibition is in line with the transformation agenda of the school which intends to ensure that the students take up challenges of starting and doing their businesses while they are still running their programs as this would prepare them to face the real business world after graduation. In his opening address, the Dean also admonished the students to be courageous, and have the right attitude as this would determine their altitude.
The exhibition was witnessed by different invited Assessors from industries and faculty members of SBM. The contesters at the event were awarded different medals which include bronze, silver, and gold. The medals were based on the four categories of the exhibition which include stage, product and service, poster, and video presentation. The best project in each category as stated in the table below got gold medal with RM300.00 as the overall champion of the exhibition, Dayang Almahera Ishak, got a trophy along other prizes.

The event which was brought to a closing by the Dean, his deputy, Prof. Madya Fais bin Ahmad, and witnessed by other invited guests and faculty members was an eye opener and inspiration for all the students’ participants and their lecturers accordingly. The Dean in his closing note, further challenged the students to be upright and see this as a clarion call that will spur them to take further actions that will positively contribute to their growth and to the economy of the country as a whole.
