SBM Online: The SBM Intellectual Discourse Series this July featured the importance of simulation in business education. The discourse series titled ‘The Use of Simulations in the School of Business Management: Opportunities, Challenges and Outcome for Entrepreneurship Education’ was presented by Prof. Dr. Mohd Noor Mohd Shariff.
The idea behind the intellectual sharing session by SBM’s Professors was mooted by the Dean of SBM, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah who believes that SBM’s wide range of talent should be capitalised on. He believes in that the concept of sharing is a noble intention which helps to educate a wider community. Presently, SBM has eight (8) Professors in Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource.
In the sharing session, Prof. Dr. Mohd Noor Mohd Shariff stressed the importance of using simulation during teaching and learning. He also highlighted how this simulation and experiential learning can help students to gain first-hand knowledge which are not available in textbooks. Thus, simulation based education is going to change how knowledge is created, delivered and absorbed at higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in the country.
The session was attended by the Chairman of SBM’s Professorial Committee Professor Dr. Rushami Zien Yusoff, Marketing Department Head of Department Associate Professor Dr.Hasnizam Shaari, SBM faculty members, SBM administrative staffs and postgraduate students.
