SBM explores Strategic Collaboration Opportunities with PNS

SBM 0nline: School of Business Management (SBM) has received a visit from the Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS) on 22 May 2017, represented by Mr. Muhamad Hafiz Sulaiman, Head of Program Development Department and Design, PNS Academy. The discussion was also attended by the Deputy Dean of SBM, Associate Prof. Dr. Fais Ahmad, Dr. Armanurah Mohamad and Dr. Awanis Ku Ishak. The dean, Professor Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah expressed SBM's desire to establish a strategic business relationship and network with PNS to produce graduate entrepreneurs who are competent, dynamic and brilliant. SBM opens the door for direct collaboration with the industry in the effort to produce graduates with entrepreneurship as a career option.

Prof. Dr. Haim also has suggested PNS to assist SBM to provide the infrastructure to help lecturers and students to carry out learning and teaching through the franchise system application. During the discussion, both parties agreed to work together to produce programs and projects that will both benefit the students and the lecturers. 

According to Mr. Muhamad Hafiz Sulaiman, PNS also has seven relevant government agencies in the field of entrepreneurship that can be leveraged for win-win collaboration between PNS and SBM through specific programs. In this brief discussion, both parties were confident to deepen the collaboration in near future particularly through hands-on teaching and learning, research, publication, training and other special programs related to franchising business world.

The strategic collaboration between university and PNS are also in line with the UUM vision to become Eminent Management University. In addition, the collaboration is also in line with a key role in helping to boost the development of the civil servants of the franchise industry in Malaysia.
