Internet of Things (IoT) and the Future of Marketing

The School of Business Management (SBM) through the SBM Professorial Council Committee organized a Bi-Monthly Intellectual Discourse Program intended as a platform for knowledge sharing among peers. This effort was inspired by the Dean of SBM, Prof Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah who believes that it’s about time to showcase SBM’s Professors and their areas of expertise. Presently, SBM has eight (8) Professors with expertise in Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management.

In the sharing session, Prof Dr. Nik Kamariah Nik Mat stressed the importance of information technology in marketing. She went on to say that connectivity is vital for any company’s sustainability. Thus, the Internet of Things (IoT) is going to change how marketers create, deliver and capture customer values.  The session was attended by the HRM Head of Department Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Halim Abdul Majid, Senior Marketing Faculty member Associate Professor Dr. Zolkafli Hussin, SBM faculty members, SBM administrative staffs and postgraduate students.
