A meeting between the School of Business Management (SBM) with INTAN Wilayah Utara (INTURA) was held on Tuesday, 2nd of May 2017. The Regional Director, Dr. Faizal Kamaruddin, represented INTURA. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of SBM, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah and attended by the Deputy Dean, Head of Departments, Dr. Sarah Shaharruddin and the Corporate Affairs Division.

The purpose of the meeting was to explore potential strategic collaboration and between SBM and INTAN in general and INTURA in particular. It was also seen as an opportunity to enhance ties between the two institutions. The potential areas identified for collaboration between the institutions which may include either the form of a full mode or was phased were:

1.    Collaborative academic programs.

2.    Joint research avenues.

3.    Consultation and training opportunities.

Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah proposed the development of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) between SBM and INTAN focused on research in management that will enhance the government and public services agenda. This was among a host of other issues that were discussed during the meeting. The Dean also expressed his hope that such discussions will be fruitful and be able to provide added value to the country and the people as a whole and UUM students specifically.a
