SBM Online: A meeting between the School of Business Management (SBM) and the National Union of Assistant Medical Officers for Peninsular Malaysia representing the Melaka Health Department headed by Mr. Hj. Mohd Awal Din and Mr. Hj. Amin Abd Rahman was held on 12th February 2017.

The meeting which was attended by the representatives of Health Department from various states/districts, was chaired by the Dean of SBM, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah and was joined by the Head of HRM department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Abdul Majid, coordinators for HRM postgraduate programme and lecturers in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.

This meeting was held with the aim to discuss in detail the Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety Management (MSc. OSH) offered by SBM. The first cohort of students from the Department of Health is expected to commence the MSc. OSH in Melaka soon. The representative of the National Union of Assistant Medical Officer for Peninsular Malaysia hopes that SBM will be keen to offer the same program to assistant medical oficers group in the Northern Territory.

Through the implementation of the MSc. OSH programme with the National Union of Assistant Medical Officer for Peninsular Malaysia, it is expeced that the groups joining the programme will be able to improve their knowledge and skills in their respective fields and later be an inspiration to their colleagues and others.
